BIO
Kielan Sheard is a double and electric bassist, bandleader and composer from London, UK. He has been breathing music since infancy, playing instruments from the age of five.
Working across a multitude of genres from indie rock to math jazz, Kielan is currently in his fourth year of study at Trinity Laban.
In 2020 (his first year of study) he was a finalist in the BBC Young Jazz Musician at just 18 years of age. In 2021 he made his Blue Note debut with Byron Wallen's Indigo on Transmissions from the Total Refreshment Centre.
Kielan has worked extensively around the UK with various projects and ensembles, both as a bandleader and a sideman with a vast array of musicians across the UK jazz scene and beyond.
In addition, Kielan has years of teaching experience - playing his part in nurturing the next generation of fine young musicians.

The Kielan Sheard Trio provides a fresh and innovative approach toward the art of the trio. It features Jonah Evans on drums, Tom O’Brien on piano and Kielan Sheard on electric bass. Their performances demonstrate their collective work toward the ‘Three as One’ through the medium of original composition and improvisation.
